Hypnotherapy Helps With-

Depression

Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think, and how you act. Fortunately, it is also treatable. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems and can decrease a person’s ability to function at work and at home. Depression symptoms can vary from mild to severe and can include:

- Feeling sad or having a depressed mood

- Loss of interest or pleasure in activities once enjoyed

- Changes in appetite

- Weight loss or gain: unrelated to dieting

- Trouble sleeping or sleeping too much

- Loss of energy or increased fatigue

- Increase in purposeless physical activity (e.g., hand-wringing or pacing) or slowed movements and speech (actions observable by others)

- Feeling worthless or guilty

- Difficulty thinking, concentrating or making decisions

- Thoughts of death or suicide

Anxiety

Anxiety is a feeling of unease, such as worry or fear, that can be mild or severe. Everyone has feelings of anxiety at some point in their life. For example, you may feel worried and anxious about sitting an exam or having a medical test or job interview. During times like these, feeling anxious can be perfectly normal. However, some people find it hard to control their worries. Their feelings of anxiety are more constant and can often affect their daily life.

Anxiety is the main symptom of a multitude of conditions, including panic disorder, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder and social anxiety disorder (social phobia).

Generalised anxiety disorder (GAD)

GAD is a long-term condition that causes you to feel anxious about a wide range of situations and issues, rather than one specific event.

Hypnotherapy is an effective, long-lasting way to take action on these problems however they choose to manifest themselves.

Phobias

A phobia is an overwhelming and debilitating fear of an object, place, situation, feeling or animal. Phobias are more pronounced than fears. They develop when a person has an exaggerated or unrealistic sense of danger about a situation or object. If a phobia becomes very severe, a person may organise their life around avoiding the thing that's causing them anxiety. As well as restricting their day-to-day life, it can also cause a lot of distress.

Phobia Symptoms

A phobia is a type of anxiety disorder. You may not experience any symptoms until you come into contact with the source of your phobia. But in some cases, even thinking about the source of a phobia can make a person feel anxious or panicky. This is known as anticipatory anxiety. Symptoms may include:

- Unsteadiness, dzziness and lightheadedness

- Nausea

- Sweating

- Increased heart rate or palpitations

- Shortness of breath

- Trembling or shaking

- An upset stomach

Hypnotherapy can be an effective long lasting treatment

Panic Attacks

A panic attack is the abrupt onset of intense fear or discomfort that reaches a peak within minutes and includes at least four of the following symptoms:

- Palpitations

- Pounding heart or accelerated heart rate

- Sweating

- Trembling or shaking

- Sensations of shortness of breath or smothering

Motivation

Motivation is the factor that stimulates desire and energy in people to be continually interested in and committed to a job, role or subject, or to make an effort to attain a goal.

Motivation results from the interaction of both conscious and unconscious factors such as the intensity of desire or need, the incentive or reward value of the goal, and the expectations of the individual and of his or her peers. These factors are the reasons one has for behaving a certain way. An example is a student who spends extra time studying for a test because he or she wants a better grade in the class.

Smoking Cessation

Smoking cessation (also known as quitting smoking or simply quitting) is the process of discontinuing tobacco smoking. Tobacco smoke contains nicotine, which is addictive and can cause dependence. Nicotine withdrawal often makes the process of quitting difficult. Most smokers who try to quit do so without assistance. However, only 3–6% of quit attempts without assistance are successful long-term. Hypnotherapy is an effective, long-lasting way to take action.

Drug and Alcohol Difficulties

If you have an addiction, you're not alone. According to the charity Action on Addiction, 1 in 3 people are addicted to something.

Addiction is defined as not having control over doing, taking or using something to the point where it could be harmful to you.

Addiction is most commonly associated with gambling, drugs, alcohol and nicotine, but it's possible to be addicted to just about anything.

Dieting & Weight Control

When it comes to losing weight and weight management, you already know about the usual go-to professionals: doctors, nutritionists and dietitians, personal trainers, and even mental health coaches. But there may be one you haven’t quite thought of yet—hypnotherapy. No other weight loss method addresses the core issues at the root like hypnosis does.

Incontinence

Hypnotherapy may play a fantastic role in improving this disorder. There are three main types of incontinence: stress, urge and functional. The first is due to insufficient strength of the pelvic floor muscles. It is the loss of small amounts of urine associated with coughing, laughing, sneezing, exercising or other movements that increase intra-abdominal pressure and thus increase pressure on the bladder.

The second is involuntary loss of urine occurring for no apparent reason while suddenly feeling the need or urge to urinate, and the third occurs when a person recognises the need to urinate but cannot physically make it to the bathroom in time due to limited mobility.

Hypnosis can often help to reduce incontinence and can also help with the emotional issues that come with it. It also has the benefit of having no side effects. The way it works is through the process of accessing your subconscious and instructing it to support your intended goals. In this instance, your goal is to be in control of your bladder.

There are many people who have benefited from hypnotherapy for this problem, and the first step towards the road to recovery is to realise you have a problem and seek a medical diagnosis.

Vaccinations

INJECTIONS!!

How to cope with them...

We all hate or, at least, dislike them, but injections are largely unavoidable nowadays. Most of the time, injections are used to vaccinate patients, and without such vaccinations, one may contract many deadly diseases (COVID-19, for example). Many other important medical procedures, like diabetes treatments, blood tests, anaesthetics, and dental treatments, also involve injections. This makes overcoming your "trypanophobia" (the fear of needles) very important because, all too often, there are no alternatives. Around one in ten people suffers from fear of injections or needles, so you are not alone.

How to Prepare for the Injection

Confront your fear. Knowing more about what you're afraid of could help you overcome your fear by making needles and injections seem more ordinary.Do some research about injections: their history, their purpose, even their dangers.

Look up pictures of needles and injections online to desensitise yourself. To take this to the next level, you might consider hypnotherapy and face your fears together, overcoming them in a safe, relaxed way.

Try handling real (clean, unused) syringes for a few minutes every day, if possible.

This might be difficult to start with, but it could help you overcome your fear. The more exposure you have to needles, the more ordinary they will seem.

Consider the source of your fear. With hypnotherapy, we can find out whether you are aware of it or not and how long ago it happened.  Some people develop a fear of injections because they associate them with another traumatising event. Often, those who suffer from needle phobia are those who had a lot of procedures involving needles when they were children or young adults. Think back on your childhood and talk to your parents if possible about this. Understanding the roots of your fear can help you confront it. Don't suffer in silence.
